Access Explorer Tab (Admin)

The Access Explorer tab in Admin Settings configures how the Access Explorer feature performs group membership expansion. These settings are separate from the Access Explorer dashboard tab, they are a performance and safety configuration for the underlying expansion engine.

Enable User Expansion#

A toggle that globally enables or disables group-to-user expansion across the entire app. When disabled, the “View Individual Users” and “Explain Access for User” features in the dashboard Access Explorer will not function.

Default: Enabled.

When to disable: If your Confluence instance has extremely large groups and expansion calls are causing timeouts or excessive API usage, disable this temporarily while you investigate.
